Train derailment disrupts Dhaka-Ctg rail link

Train services from Chattogram to Dhaka were disrupted as four compartments of Chattala Express train derailed in Sitakunda upazila on Wednesday morning (January 3).

The accident took place around 7:00am. However, no casualties were reported.

Railway sources said four coaches were derailed due to fault in the railway line.

Chattogram railway police (GRP) Sitakunda police outpost in-charge SI Amzad Hossain confirmed the matter.

Due to the derailment, train movement from Chittagong to Dhaka remained suspended but operation on the down line is normal.
