Four polling centres torched in Rajshahi

Four voting centres have been set on fire in Rajshahi’s Bagha, Baghmara and Mohanpur upazilas two days before the general elections.
The vote centers are Bagha upazila’s Jutanshi government primary school, Arani Jhina government primary school, Mohanpur’s Motihar high school, and Akkerpur high school of Baghmara.
Meanwhile, police recovered four unexploded cocktails from Baghmara vote centers.
Mazibur Rahman, headmaster of Motihar high school in Mohanpur said miscreants set fire to the vote center on Thursday night.
Baghmara police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Arbinda Sarker said miscreants set fire to the voter center. Later, locals doused the blaze. Meanwhile, two unexploded cocktails were recovered.
Bagha police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aminul Islam said unidentified people set fire to an abandoned building in front of Jutanshi government primary school. There was no damage to the polling station.
Rajshahi district police’s spokesperson Additional police super Rafiqul Islam said the investigation is underway in this regard.
