BNP-police clash in Chattogram

A clash broke out on Sunday between police and the members of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Chandgaon thana area of Chattogram.

The incident took place around 10:00am. Meanwhile, BNP leaders and activists hurled brick-chips aiming police.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Panchlaish Zone Assistant Police Commissioner Md Arif Hossain said around 20 to 30 BNP men gathered at C&B junction in the morning and tried to sabotage.

Meanwhile, police tried to disperse them from the area. At one stage, they threw stones at the police.

The situation is under control now, the police officer added.
