Mymensingh-3: Voting at suspended centre underway

The voting at one suspended polling centre, Bhalukapur High School Centre, under Gauripur upazila in Mymensingh is underway.

The voting began at 8 am on Saturday (January 13) amid tight security and will continue till 4 pm without any break.

The number of voters in this center is 3032. Awami League candidate Nilufar Anjum Popi has got 985 votes more from his rival.

Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Didar-E-Alam Mohammad Maksud Chowdhury said a large number of security personnel have been deployed at the suspended centre. Voters are casting their votes at seven polling booths.

The Election Commission (EC) has completed all preparations to hold the voting.

On January 7, the local administration suspended voting at Bhalukpur High School centre in Shabanhati of Gauripur upazila due to election irregularities.
