Nilufar Anjum Popi wins Mymensingh-3 seat

Awami League candidate Nilufar Anjum Popi has won the Mymensingh-3 seat in the 12th national election.

The voting at one suspended polling centre, Bhalukapur High School Centre, under Gauripur upazila in Mymensingh was held on Saturday.

A total of 1677 votes were cast out of 3032.  Of which, Nilufar Anjum Popi got 1295 votes while her nearest candidate Somnath Saha got 355 votes.

Nilufar Anjum Popi bagged 54,490 votes while Somnath Saha got 55,566 votes.

Assistant Returning Officer and UNO Mohammad Nahidul Karim announced the results.

On January 7, the local administration suspended voting at Bhalukpur High School centre due to election irregularities.
