Rohingya man murdered at Ukhiya camp

A Rohingya man was murdered at a camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar district on Saturday afternoon.

The incident took place around 4:30 pm at C/6 block of camp no 19 under Palongkhali union.

The deceased was identified as Hujit Ullah, 34, son of Foyzul Karim of the camp.

Ukhiya Police Station officer-in-charge Shamim Hossain said a gang of 7/8 miscreants, wearing masks, indiscriminately hacked Hujit and, later, shot at his head, leaving him dead on the spot.

Police were conducting drives to identify and arrest the involved people, he added.
