Ferry capsize: Hamza, Rustam joining rescue

Rescue vessels 'Hamza’ and ‘Rustam’ are on their way to join the recovery operation at Paturia Ghat where a ferry has sunk.

Sources said that the rescue vessels arrived in the spot. Hamza left Daulatdia for the accident site first. Then, rescue ship Rustam left Mawa Ghat to assist Hamza in the rescue operations.

Earlier, a ferry named Rajanigandha carrying a few pick-up trucks and covered vans, capsized in the river around 8:23am as it was crossing the river in the Paturia ghat in Manikganj.

On information, fire servicemen rushed to the spot and rescued six people from the spot. However, Humayun Kabir, second driver of the ferry remained missing.
