Rajanigandha capsized due to overloading

The ferry named Rajanigandha capsized in the river Padma due to overload.

Police Super of Faridpur Naval Police Syed Mushfiq said the ferry Rajanigandha capsized in the river Padma due to overloading. Earlier, it was informed that the ferry capsized as a bulkhead had hit it. But it was not true.

“The ferry that sank was very old, dilapidated and overloaded. Due to the excess pressure, water entered the bottom part”, he said.
