Bus-truck collision kills 2 in Gopalganj

A woman and a bus driver were killed and at least 15 people injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Gopalganj's Sadar upazila early Thursday (January 18).

The deceased were known as Mizan, 25, and an identified woman, 35.

The accident took place in Sonasur area of sadar upazila around 2:00am.

Bhatiapara highway police station’s officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Hasem Mazumdar said Satkhira-bound a passenger bus was collided with a truck in the area, leaving the two people dead on the spot and injured 15 others.

On information, three fire service units rushed to the spot and sent the injured to Gopalganj general hospital, the police officer said.
