Cold wave in Kurigram: All educational institutions closed

Mild cold wave is sweeping over the Kurigram district. All primary and secondary schools in the district have been declared shut due to the cold spell.
Kurigram Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Saidul Arif, confirmed the matter around 11:00am on Thursday (January 18).
Earlier this morning, Kurigram, a northern district of the country, experienced 9 degree Celsius.
District primary education officer, Navez Uddin said mild cold wave is sweeping over Kurigram. As a result, all primary educational institutions have been declared closed. The school will reopen when the temperature rises above 10 degree.
Subal Chandra Sarker, acting officer of the Agriculture and Synoptic Weather Monitoring Centre at Rajarhat in the district said today the minimum temperature recorded in the district was 9 degree Celsius. Such temperature may continue for two more days.
