Ferry capsize: Rustom joins rescue operation

Salvage vessel 'Rustom' on Thursday (January 18) joined the operation to rescue the ferry that sank at Paturia terminal with vehicles on Wednesday.

Rustom reached Paturia Ghat Number 5 at around 11:45 am.

BIWTC’s Aricha office DGM Shah Md Khaled Newaz confirmed the matter.

He said that the ferry service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route was halted from 1:30 am to 8:30 am on Thursday due to dense fog. Later, the vehicles were transferred quickly when the fog cleared.
