Bus-microbus collision leaves 2 dead in Pabna

Two people were killed and several others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a microbus at Ishwardi upazila in Pabna district on Saturday (January 20) morning.
The incident happened at around 8.00am on the Dashuria-Kushtia highway in Mirkamari Purbopara area of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Amit Kundu, 40, son of Surat Kumar, a resident of Radhanagar area under Pabna municipality, and Nasim, 45, son of Abdur Rauf, of Sheikhpara village under Ishwardi upazila.
Pakshi Highway Police outpost in-charge Ashish Kumar Sanal said a passenger bus of SN Paribahan was heading towards Ishwardi from Kushtia. On the other hand, a microbus from Dashuria was going towards Kushtia.
On the way, the both vehicles collided head-on with each other, leaving 10 passengers of the microbus, including the duo, critically injured.
Locals rescued them and took to Pabna General Hospital where duty doctors declared them dead, he added.
