Tourists from home and abroad come in Cox’s Bazar in the months of December and January, giving a significant growth to the country’s tourism sector.
But this year Cox’s Bazar is witnessing less number of tourists due to heavy cold weather.
A mild cold wave is sweeping over many parts of the country including the northern districts.
Low temperature is being recorded in many places as a result people are staying at their houses.
Rashed-un-Nabi, an old businessman in Kalatali beach area of Cox's Bazar, said, “I have been selling oyster jewelery for 30 years. I expected a good business in the winter season. But, the hope has not been fulfilled so far due to cold weather”.
