Prisoner dies in Kashimpur Jail

A prisoner died in Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Thursday (January 25).

The death of convict Samsu Mia, 65, son of Zafor Ali hailing from Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur, was confirmed by jail authority.

Jail Superintendent of Kashimpur Central Jail Part-2 Amirul Islam said, Samsu Mia was taken to the jail hospital when he suddenly fell sick inside the jail early in the morning. However, he was later sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated and he breathed his last there around 6:15 am.

He also said his body will be handed over to the relatives after legal procedures.
