Panchagarh shivers in chilling cold, 5.8°C temperature recorded

Shivering cold accompanied with dense fog and cold wave has hit Panchagarh district hard, disrupting the normal life of people.
The bone-chilling cold is forcing people to stay home. The daily wage earners are the worst sufferers as they could not go out for work.
Some people were seen warming themselves in the morning after setting fire on husks beside the road.
This morning (January 26), temperature was recorded at 5.8 degrees Celsius in Panchagarh.
Russell Shah, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tetulia Meteorological Observatory, said Panchagarh’s Tetulia recorded lowest temperature at 5.8 degrees Celsius at 9 am today.
Earlier, on Thursday (January 25) it was 8.6 degrees Celsius in the district. The minimum temperature in the district was ranging from 7 to 10 since last Monday.
The Met office said that a moderate to severe cold wave is moving over the district. Even after 10am, vehicles were seen moving on the highway with headlights on.
