Night guard hacked dead in Rohingya camp

A watchman was killed at a refugee camp in Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar allegedly by Rohingya insurgents on Sunday night (January 28).

The deceased was known as Yeasin, 35, son of Abdul Bari, hailed from C-1 block of the camp. The victim was working as a nightguard in a learning centre in the camp.

Quoting locals and APBn members, police said some 7-8 masked men attack Yeasin with lethal weapon around 10:30pm and fled the scene, leaving him dead on the spot.

Ukhiya police station officer-in-charge (OC) Shamim Hossain confirmed the matter.
