Physician held with gold bars at Ctg airport

Customs intelligence has detained a physician of Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport’s health department on Monday (January 29) morning.

The detainee man is Dr A Z M A Sharif. He was an on-duty health officer at the airport, Chattogram Custom House’s assistant commissioner Mohiuddin Patwary confirmed.

Primarily, it is learned that any passenger who came from Sharjah handed over the gold bars to Dr Sharif to take those bars outside the airport.

A process to take legal action is underway in this regard, said assistant commissioner Mohiuddin.
