Former Cumilla-5 lawmaker Abul Hashem Khan dies

Former lawmaker for Cumilla-5 (Burichang-Brahmanpara) constituency Advocate Abul Hashem Khan passed away.

He breathed his last around 5:10 am on Wednesday (January 31) while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital.

Cumilla South District Awami League (AL) Organizing Secretary Rupam Majumder and Abul Hashem Khan’s daughter Nazia Hashem Tanzi confirmed the matter to risingbd.

Mentionable, Awami League candidate Abul Hashem Khan contested in the 12th parliamentary election with boat symbol and lost to independent candidate M A Jaher.

Earlier, on April 14 in 2021, Awami League Candidate Advocate Abul Hashem Khan was elected unopposed in the by-election to Cumilla-5 (Burichang-Brahmanpara) constituency.
