Food Minister in Kushtia, two warehouses sealed off

In a sudden visit, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder inspected one of the main rice warehouses in the town’s Khajanagar area on Wednesday noon.

During the visit, the minister directed the district administration to seal off M/S Subarna Auto Rice Mills for hoarding about 400 tons of rice.

He also directed to seal off a flower mill of the same owner, Zinnah Alam, for hoarding about 150 tons of wheat.

While interacting with the local traders, Sadhan Chandra said that he is inspecting the market situation and whether anyone engages in the illegal practice of hoarding food products to create an artificial crisis in the market.

The visit is a part of the government's ongoing drive against the hoarders, said the food minister.
