Fighting in Myanmar: Panic on Ghumdhum border

A heavy fighting is being taken place on Ghumdhum- Tumbru border inside Myanmar. Mortar shells and bullets are coming in the Bangladesh as a result, panic has spread in Naikhangchari upazila of Bandarban.
Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Shah Mozahid Uddin and Police Super Soikat Shaheen visited the area to observe the situation.
According to locals, due to the ongoing conflict between the army and the insurgent group inside Myanmar, the area was shaken by the loud sound of mortar shell explosions inside Myanmar.
On Tuesday (January 30) night, several mortar shells hit the Bangladesh area, creating panic among the locals.
A Monowar Begum said gunfire is being heard inside Myanmar. Being close to Myanmar is affecting the livelihood of the people in that area.
