One person was injured as shots were fired between two armed groups of Myanmar near the Rohingya camp alongside the zero line of Ghumdhum border in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban on Sunday (February 4).
The injured person was known as Prabir Chandra Dhar, hailed from Tumbru Hindupara of the upazila.
Mahfuz Imtiaz Bhuiyan, inspector of Ghumdhum Police Outpost Investigation Centre confirmed the matter.
Locals said that Myanmar army is fighting against the armed groups inside their country since last couple of days. They are using high-powered ammunition and explosives. The loud noise of explosion from those ammunitions and explosives caused panic among people in the area of Naikhongchhari in Bandarban.
Abdul Mannan, District Primary Education Officer said five primary schools in the border areas declared shut due to the ongoing gun firing at the border.
