14 Myanmar border guards take refuge in Bangladesh

14 personnel from Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) fled to Bangladesh and took refuge in a Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) outpost in Bandarban after being attacked by rebels on Sunday (4 February).
BGB-34 Battalion commanding officer lieutenant colonel Abdullah Al Ashroki confirmed the matter.
Details will be announced later through press conference, he said.
Md Anwar, union parishad (UP) member at Ghumdhum union said loud noises of explosions were heard around 3:00am.
BGB-34 Battalion commanding officer said that Myanmar army is fighting with the rebels in their country. In this situation, some BGP members from Myanmar entered into Bangladesh territory. They were taken to Ghumdhum border. Later, necessary measures will be taken in this regard according to international law.
