Two killed as car crashes into covered van

At least two people were killed and two others sustained critical injuries when a speeding private car crashed into a covered van in Gulla area of on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Tangail on Sunday (February 4).

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident took place around 9:30am.

Police and fire service said that a covered van was moving forward when banana-laden a pickup van showed technical glitch in front of a patrol pump. Meanwhile, the private car hit the covered van from backside, leaving two people in the car dead on the spot and injured two others.

Basail police station Officer-in-Charged (OC) Mohammad Mazharul Amin confirmed the matter.
