Bangladeshi woman among 2 killed by mortar shell fired from Myanmar

Two people, including a Bangladeshi woman, were killed by a mortar shell that came from Myanmar along the Tumbru border in Naikhongchhari Upazila of Bandarban district.

The incident took place in Jalpaitali area of word no-4 of Ghumdhum union of the upazila around 2 pm on Monday (February 5).

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naikhongchhari Police Station Abbul Mannan confirmed the matter.

The deceased Bangladeshi woman was Hosne Ara Begum, 45, wife of Badsha Mia of the upazila and another deceased was a Rohingya man. However, he could not be identified immediately.
