Woman, her daughter gang-raped in Subarnachar

A woman and her fifth grader daughter were gang-raped allegedly by three people, who entered their house to steal, in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali early Tuesday (February 6).
The accused also snatched away gold nosepin, earrings, and cash Tk 17,000 from them.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Char Jabbar police station Rafiqul Islam said three thieves entered a house in Charkaji Mokhlech village around 2am on Tuesday. They tied the woman’s hands, and stole the gold and cash from the house. Later, the gang-raped the woman and her 11-year-old daughter and fled the house.
Hearing their screams, the neighbours rescued the victims and informed the matter to police.
Quoting the locals, the OC said the woman was living alone with her three children at their newly built house and her husband is day labourer husband by profession. He comes home every 2-3 days.
Being informed police visited the spot and took the woman and her daughter to Noakhali General Hospital for medical test, the OC said, adding that filing a case is under process.
Police are trying to identify the accused involved in the incident, he said.
