2 BCL leaders arrested in AL leader murder case

Police arrested Kurigram Sadar Upazila Chhatra League general secretary Rezvi Kabir Chowdhury Bindu and president of Kurigram Polytechnic Institute BCL Jhinuk Mia in a case filed over the killing of a local Awami League (AL) leader following an old enmity on Friday (February 9) evening.

The deceased was identified as Shariful Islam Sohan, 40, treasurer of the Municipal unit Awami League and a transport businessman.

Rozina Parvin, wife of Shariful Islam Sohan, filed a case with Kurigram Sadar police station against Sadar Upazila Chhatra League general secretary Rezvi Kabir Chowdhury Bindu, president of Kurigram Polytechnic Institute BCL Jhinuk Mia, BCL leaders Sourav and Swadhin and 7/8 unnamed people.

Ruhul Amin, additional superintendent of Kurigram Police, confirmed the matter in a press conference on Saturday (February 10).
