Devotees flock to Tongi for Akheri Munajat

Tens of thousands of people from the city and surrounding areas are thronging the Turag River bank to attend the Akheri Munajat marking the end of Biswa Ijtema's second phase.

The number of presence of people is increasing gradually there. Maulana Saad Kandhalvi's eldest son, Yusuf bin Saad Kandhalvi is scheduled to conduct the munajat at 10:30am.

Mohammad Sayem, media coordinator of Tablighi Jamaat Bangladesh said Akheri Munajat will be held on Sunday morning between 10:30 am and 11:00 am.

The authorities have arranged special bus and train services on the occasion. Besides, the police took a special traffic plan to handle the extra pressure of the pilgrims.

Earlier, the second phase of the Bishwa Ijtema began on Friday with aam bayaan (general sermons) after Fazr prayers by Maulana Ilyas Bin Saad of India.
