Unidentified body found in Ukhiya canal

An unidentified body was found in Balukhali customs area of Cox's Bazar on Sunday noon amid ongoing clashes between Myanmar army and armed rebel groups in the country.

Locals noticed the dead body in a canal stream in Ukhiya of the district. Noticing olive-colour helmet and dress, locals opined that the victim was a member of Myanmar armed forces.

Ukhiya police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shamim Hossain said that on information, policemen were sent to the area.

Details can be said later after investigation, OC added.
