2 held with 20 gold bars at Bangabandhu Expressway

Police detained two people along with 20 gold bars after searching a passenger bus on the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Expressway in Munshiganj’s Srinagar upazila on Wednesday (February 14).

The detainees are Mohammad Mostafa, 35, son of Abdul Mannan and Nazim Mondal, 34, son of Hamid Mondal.

Kanchan Kumar Singh, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hansara Highway Police Outpost, confirmed the incident.

The market value of the seized gold bars is approximately Tk 2 crore, the OC said, adding that process to file a case against them is underway.
