Fire breaks out at fertilizer factory in Gazipur

A fire broke out at a cotton warehouse and organic fertilizer manufacturing factory in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur on Thursday night (February 15).

Fire service and locals said that an electric transformer exploded adjacent to the factory around 9:30pm. Meanwhile, the fire spread out the Sabuj Bangla Organic Fertilizer Factory located in Jamalpur Chowrasta area of the upazila.

Later, on information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control after around three hour’s effort.

Iftekhar Hossain Rayhan Chowdhury, officer at Kaliakoir fire service station confirmed the matter.
