Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said that members of law enforcing agencies are on high alert on Myanmar border, so no one will be able to enter Bangladesh firearms and ammunition.
The home minister said this while talking to journalists after a meeting with police officers at the office of the Superintendent of Police in the port city on Friday afternoon.
“It is reported that people are entering the country with arms and ammunition through the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. There is nothing to be worried. Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) are on high alert to prevent the entry of firearms and ammunition in Bangladesh in the wake of the ongoing conflict in Myanmar”.
Besides, the members of the Coast Guard and Bangladesh Navy are instructed to stay alert at all times to ensure close vigilance on the border, said the minister.
