5 to walk gallows for killing in Joypurhat

A court in Joypurhat on Monday (February 19) sentenced five people to death for killing a woman and her son in Panchbibi upazila.

Additional session judge-1 court justice Nurul Islam passed the order this noon.

The court also fined the convicts Tk50,000 each.

The convicts are – Sahida Begum, wife of late Rustum Ali, their sob Rabbani, Mozaffar Hossain, son of Nayeb Ali, Amina, wife of Abu Rayhan, her son Rafiul.

According to the case statement, on March 25, 2010, the convicted person attacked Abu Taher, son of Abu Hossain in Dargapara village, leaving him critically injured. Later, he died under treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka.
