Potato import through Sonamasjid land port suspended

The potato import through Sonamasjid land port in Chapainawabganj has remained suspended for nine days as importers are facing loss.

Importers have claimed that there is a sufficient potato supply in the market as a result consumers are not buying imported potatoes.

On October 30, 2023, the government allowed import of potatoes to regain control over the volatile market.

Later, the government once again allowed import of potatoes to regain control.
