Two held with gold at Ctg airport

Customs intelligence detained two persons with gold, weighing 1.114kg, from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Saturday (March 2) morning.

The detainees are Md Shafikul Islam, a resident of Patia upazila of Chattogram, and Md Morshed, a resident of Hathazari upazila of the district.

Group Captain Taslim Ahmed, director of the airport, said a flight from Sharjah landed at the airport. During the regular checking, customs intelligence found gold concealed into two blending machines in their luggage.

The market price of the seized gold is approximately Tk 1 crore.
