3 die after taking liquor in Kaliakoir

Three persons have died after taking excessive liquor in Purbo Chandora Sarkarbari bazar area under Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur on Friday (March 1) night.

The deceased were identified as Helal Uddin, 45, son of Ajibar Hossain; Kaderul Islam, 28, son of Tofazzal Hossain; and Saidur Rahman Mishu.

Locals said three persons fell sick after taking excessive liquor around 9:30 pm on Friday. Later, they were rushed to a hospital where duty doctors declared them dead.

Confirming the matter, Kaliakoir police station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Nasim said an unnatural death case has been filed with the police station in this connection.

The real cause behind their deaths could be known after their postmortems, the OC added.
