1 killed, 5 injured as tourist car overturns in Bandarban

A teenage girl was killed and five others were injured when a tourist car turned a turtle and fell into a ditch in Bandarban’s Ruma upazila on Monday (March 4).
The incident took place in Nazareth area under Ruma Sadar union.
The deceased was identified as Lingae Khumi, 17, daughter of Ku Hoi Khumi. The injured are Prusang Aung Marma, 55; Thoai Sa Mong Marma, 55; Mongsing Oyong Marma, 25; Pulong Khumi, 45 and Meki Khumi, 17.
Eyewitnesses said that a tourist car carrying passengers on its way from Samakhal Para of Ruma Upazila to Ruma Bazaar lost control while coming down from the high mountain road and overturned on the side of the road. At that time, the girl who was the passenger of the car died on the spot and five other passengers were injured.
Later, locals sent the injured to Ruma Upazila Health Complex.
Ruma Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahjahan confirmed the incident.
