‘Sugar stocks sufficient, there will be no shortage’ 

Chairman of S Alam Group Saiful Alam Masud has said there is no shortage of sugar and there are sufficient stocks, so the country will not face any problem.

“There will be no shortage of sugar in the country. S Alam Refined Sugar Mills will start supply of sugar within one or two days”, he said.

Saiful Alam Masud said this to newsmen after visiting the firefighting efforts at the sugar mill, owned by S Alam Group, in Karnaphuli upazila of Chattogram district on Tuesday.

The fire originated around 4:15pm on Monday, but could not be brought under control yet. Now, our main aim to bring the fire under control, he said.
