Prisoner dies in Bagerhat jail

An inmate of Bagerhat district jail died while undergoing treatment at hospital on Tuesday night (March 5), police said.

The deceased was known as Md Salim Sheikh, 45, son of Md Hashem Ali Sheikh.

Bagerhat district jail jailer Abdullah Al Amin said the prisoner fell sick around 9:00pm and rushed to hospital where he died under treatment.

The body will be handed over to the family after completing autopsy and legals steps, he added.
