2 bikers die falling off under-construction bridge in Satkhira

Two motorcyclists died and another was injured after falling off an under-construction bridge at Dargahpur in Assasuni upazila of Satkhira on Wednesday (March 6) morning.

The deceased were identified as Nayan Ghosh, 18, son of Niranjan Ghosh and Willium Ghosh, 20, son of Jagannath Ghosh. Both of them are residents of Amia village under Kaliganj upazila.

Locals said three young men were crossing the bridge riding on a motorcycle in the morning. They fell off the bridge and plunged into a ditch as they could see the end side of the bridge due to dense fog. Later, they died on the spot.

Assasuni police station officer-in-charge (OC) Biswajit Kumar Adhikari said the two bodies were sent to Satkhira Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

The injured was undergoing treatment at the Sadar hospital, he said.
