Two brothers die from electrocution in Narsingdi

Two brothers died from electrocution in Manohardi upazila of Narsingdi on Wednesday (March 6) morning.

The incident took place at Gachhuarkanda village under Shukundi union of the upazila around 8:30 am.

The deceased were identified as Rubel Mia, 30, and Rakibul Hasan, 17, sons of late Sohrab Hossain, hailed from Mirzaganj upazila in Patuakhali district.

Locals said around 10-12 workers including Rubel Mia and Rakibul were working on the installation of a tube well in one Ahid Mia’s house at Gachhuarkanda village of the upazila. Around 8:30 am, two brothers came in contact with an electric wire at that time, leaving them injured.

Rescuing them, the people of the house took to the Manohardi Upazila Health Complex where doctors on duty declared them dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manohardi Police Station Abul Kashem Bhuiyan confirmed the news.
