Teacher suspended over shooting at student

Health Services Division has suspended Rayhan Sharif, a teacher at Shaheed M Monsur Ali Medical College in Sirajganj, over shooting at a student.
An office order signed by Durre Shahnewaz, deputy secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed the matter on Wednesday (March 6).
According to the gazette notification, Dr. Rayhan Sharif was suspended as law enforcement agencies arrested him for criminal offences. During the temporary suspension he will get subsistence allowance as per rules.
Earlier on Monday (March 4), Rayhan Sharif opened fire during a viva exam, leaving Arafat Amin Tamal, 22, a third-year student, injured.
Later, police filed a case against him with Sadar police station for possessing illegal fire arms. Besides, the victim’s father Abdullah Al Amin filed another case against him for attempting murder.
