Fire Service forms body to probe S Alam sugar mill fire

A five-member committee has been formed by the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence to investigate the fire incident at the warehouse of S Alam Sugar Mill in Karnaphuli.

Brig Gen Md Main Uddin, Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence revealed the matter after visiting the spot this morning (March 7).

Fire service authority said already the committee has started its investigation. The probe body will submit the report with necessary recommendation.

Earlier on Monday, the fire broke out at the S Alam Refined Sugar Mills in the port city around 4:00pm ruining a huge amount of sugar.
