31 tons of dates seized in Narayanganj

The National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection has seized 31 tons of expired dates by raiding in Sonargaon of Narayanganj. 

The operation was conducted in two establishments of Star Multipurpose Cold Storage in Kutubpur area of Kanchpur Union of Upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

Abdus Salam, Assistant Director, Dhaka Metropolitan, Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, led the campaign. 

Narayanganj District Assistant Director of Consumer Rights Selimuzzaman and a team of District Police were present at this time.
The estimated market value of the seized dates is around Tk 48. 60 lakh.

Abdus Salam said these dates had an expiry date of 2021. Their plan was to market them by extending their validity through fake stickers.
