Body of AL leader’s son found in septic tank

The body of the son of a union Awami League leader was recovered from a septic tank at Raghunathpur village of Ballamjhar union under Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning after three days of his missing.
The victim is identified as Shafiqur Rahman alias Pavel, 37, son of Abdus Samad Akond of the village. His father was the president of Ballamjhar union Awami League.
Family sources said, Pavel went out from the house on March 9 evening and since then he went missing. Despite frantic searching by the relatives, the victim could not be found.
At last, the elder brother of the victim filed a general diary with Sadar Thana.
In this situation, the locals found a body in a septic tank located at the village on Tuesday morning and informed the police.
Then the police of Sadar thana rushed to the spot, recovered the body from Sirajul Islam's abandoned house of the village and sent it to the district hospital morgue for autopsy.
Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Masud Rana confirmed the body recovery and said efforts are underway to identify and arrest those who are involved the killing.
