4 sick after drinking acid water in Cox’s Bazar

At least four people became sick after drinking battery acid water in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar on Thursday evening (March 14).

The victims are known as Nurul Hakim, 18, son of Nazir Hossain, Nurul Bashar, 32, son of late Ashu Mia, Abdul Quader, 32, son of late Sona Mia, and Ishak Ahmed, 62, son of Imam Sharif.

The incident took place during iftar in Gayalmara area of Ratnapalang union.

Nurul Huda, local union parishad chairman said shopkeepers and employees in a local garage, had organized a Iftar party on Thursday evening. Meanwhile, the four people drink the acid water of battery accidentally.

The four people were taken to upazila health complex instantly. Later, they were shifted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
