Eggplants being sold at Tk one per kg

Eggplants are being sold at Tk one per kg in the wholesale markets in Sherpur of Bogura. 

A farmer named Tariqul Islam went to Chandaikona Bazar of the upazila with his produced eggplants on Saturday morning. But he did not get any buyer.

Tariqul Islam is the son of Hossain Ali at Binodpur village of Sughat union.

Various markets of the upazila were visited and it was seen that eggplants were being sold at Tk 1 to Tk 3 taka per kg in the wholesale markets.

Eggplants were being sold at the retail markets at Tk 10 to Tk 15 per kg in Mirzapur, Registry Office, Sherua Battala, Bikel Bazar, Sakal Bazar, Dasmile Bazar. Farmers sold at Tk one but consumers had to buy those at almost 10 times higher price.
