Gazipur cylinder blast: Death toll climbs to 5

Death toll from Gazipur cylinder gas fire rises to five as two more victims died this morning (March 17).

The deceased were known as Ariful Islam, 35, and Moidul, 30.

Confirming the matter, Md Tariqul Islam, resident physician at the burn institute said Ariful suffered burns on 70 per cent of his body, while 95 per cent of Mahidul's body was burnt.

Earlier on Friday, Solaiman, 45, another burn injured died. On Saturday, 3-year-old Taiyeba and 32-year-old Monsoor Ali Akand passed away in hospital care.

On Wednesday (March 13), at least 37 people were injured in a gas cylinder explosion at a house in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur.
