Cumilla train derailment halted communication on 3 routes

Train services on Dhaka-Mymensingh, Sylhet-Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar routes remain suspended after eight compartments of a train derailed at Hasanpur station of Nangalkot upazila in Cumilla on Sunday noon (March 17).

The incident took place in Tejerbazar area of Dhalua union of the upazila around 1:30pm.

Nangalkot rail station master Jamal Hossain confirmed the matter.

He said rail communication is the routes remained suspended as the derailed compartments are scatters in the both rail lines.

However, no casualty was reported.
