Bus-microbus collision leaves 5 dead in Gopalganj

Five people were killed and several others injured when a speedy passenger bus collided head on with a microbus in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Wednesday (March 20) morning.

The accident took place around 11am at Chagolchira of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Kazi Salma Aktar, 58; Kazi Asma Begum, 56; Kazi Nasima Begum, 62; Komol Begum, 75 and microbus driver Alamgir.

The four deceased women were members of a family, hailing from Madaripur district and another from Gopalganj district.

Mohammad Ashraful Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Muksudpur police station, confirmed the matter.
