Inmate dies at Kashimpur jail

A prisoner died at Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Thursday (March 21).

The death of convict Dalil Uddin Sheikh, hailing from Manikganj Sadar upazila, was confirmed by jail authority.

Jail Superintendent of Kashimpur Central Jail Part-2 Amirul Islam said, Dalil Sheikh was taken to the jail hospital when he suddenly fell sick inside the jail around 9 am. However, he was later sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated. Duty doctor at the hospital declared him dead around 9:45 am.

He also said the body will be handed over to his family after legal procedures.
